What the driver does, and what the driver does not do
Your driver will
- Drive the route you chose, adjusting it to the traffic.
- Drop you off as close to the place as stopping is allowed.
- Wait while you walk, take photos or go inside.
- Pick you up and take you to the next stop, then home at the end.
Your driver won't
- No commentary on the monuments or the history of the districts.
- No walking visits with you: the driver stays with the car.
- No tickets or reserved access: admission is up to you.
- No set time for passing any given spot: Paris traffic is what it is.
A sample four-hour route
Here is one possible loop for a first look at Paris. It is only an example: drop places, add others, or change everything. How long each stop lasts is up to you and the traffic, and we promise no timings.
-
Trocadéro
The classic view of the Eiffel Tower across the Seine: a photo stop on foot on the esplanade.
-
Les Invalides and Pont Alexandre III
The golden dome above the esplanade, then the bridge, crossed slowly or photographed from the riverbank.
-
Concorde, the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe
The great avenue seen from the car, with a stop if you fancy walking up it.
-
The Louvre and the Île de la Cité
The pyramid and the Cour Napoléon, then along the river to Notre-Dame.
-
Montmartre
The hill and the Sacré-Cœur to finish, before heading back to your hotel.
Plenty of other ideas work too: the Marais, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Palais Garnier, Place Vendôme, Canal Saint-Martin. Send your list with your price request; if it will not fit into four hours, we tell you beforehand.
Seeing Paris with kids, without the metro or the stairs
Four hours of metro and walking wear out a whole family. By car, the little ones look out of the window between stops, and everyone only gets out where it is worth it. Tell us each child's age: the driver brings a suitable seat, infant carrier, child seat or booster, and fits it before you leave, at no extra cost.
The V-Class van seats seven and keeps the pushchair in the boot, ready at every stop. For a longer day, or several unrelated addresses, see also our page on a family private driver in Paris.
The V-Class van: the whole group in one car
For €349 for the four hours, the van takes up to 7 passengers. It is a guaranteed Mercedes V-Class: the model you book is the one that pulls up outside your hotel, never another passed off as equivalent. The vehicle is described on the page about the 7-seater van with a driver in Paris.
A four-hour package or a driver by the hour?
This format was rare on the pages we read on 12 October 2026: one platform listed €330 for four hours in Paris, for up to eight people, without naming the vehicle; a chauffeur company charged €100 an hour by sedan and €120 by van; and the large transfer platforms read that day (Kiwitaxi, Booking.com, Uber, Transfeero) offered nothing of the kind.
With us, the choice is between this package and hiring a private driver by the hour. The package suits a plan that fits into four hours in Paris; hourly hire suits longer days or stops outside the city. The full sums are in the question Paris in 4 hours: package or hourly driver?

Paris in 4 hours with a driver: frequently asked questions
How much is a tour of Paris by car with a private driver?
The Paris in 4 hours package, VAT included: E-Class sedan for up to 3, €285; V-Class van for up to 7, €349; S-Class, €429. The price is for the whole car, not per person, and it covers waiting at every stop.
Does the driver explain the sights?
No. The driver drives, drops you off, waits and picks you up again, with no commentary on the monuments, and does not go into places with you. If you want background on the sights, bring your own reading.
Can we choose the route?
Yes. Tell us the places you want to see, from the car or on foot during a stop, and the order you prefer. The driver adjusts the route to the traffic on the day; no time is promised for passing any particular spot.
What if we want more than 4 hours?
Say so when you ask for a price: extra time is priced in advance and confirmed before the ride. If you already know you will need a lot longer, booking a driver by the hour suits you better.
Is admission to the monuments included?
No. The package covers the car, the driver and the waiting; tickets for museums, monuments or river boats are yours to book and pay for.
Can we do it with young children?
Yes. Tell us each child's age: the driver brings a suitable seat and fits it before you set off, at no extra cost. In the van, the pushchair stays in the boot, ready at every stop.
Can we go in the evening?
Yes, at whatever time you choose: the package costs the same in the evening as during the day. Paris lit up at night works very well from the car, with a few photo stops.
Can I cancel the Paris in 4 hours package?
Yes, free of charge up to 24 hours before the pick-up time.
